Kinspeed, a history
Kinspeed was formed in 1985 in Sheffield, by our founder Ian Wragg, who had a background in financial system implementations, and as a qualified Cost Accountant, he found he was able to understand the user requirements, and liaise with his development team to achieve the required result for the customer.
The company quickly grew and relocated to Rotherham, with several developers and technical experts joining the team, including Darren Brooke, our current Technical Director, who had a background of working with large multi-national companies, designing and implementing business systems, having achieved a Masters in Engineering.
Kinspeed was one of the first Sage Business Partners in the UK, and has proudly worked closely with Sage ever since, specialising in bespoke development, to ensure your solution achieves the efficiency you require, with a proven record of achieving an excellent Return on Investment.
Historically, Kinspeed have worked closely with the local Universities to source upcoming talent, and our Development Director, Chris Searle joined from Sheffield Hallam University, and worked his way through the ranks, becoming a Director within a few years of joining the business. With extensive knowledge of a range of programming languages, across many platforms, Chris leads a large team of developers, that enable solutions and systems for many happy customers.
Marc Crossland joined the team in 2004, as Commercial Director, With a Computing degree, but a background in implementing and enhancing warehousing and distribution systems, Marc has been a source of knowledge and expertise for customers across many industry sectors, and is able to offer help and advice as to how best to optimise your systems.
In 2008, the company relocated back to Sheffield, and added a fully equipped training centre.
When Ian Wragg was wanting to start to step away from the business on a full time basis in 2015, Glen Banks was appointed the Board, installed as Managing Director. A Certified Accountant, but with a background of implementing financial and business systems from a user perspective, and with a key emphasis of improving business processes and ROI as a result, Glen has been enhancing the customer experience as Kinspeed continues to grow.
With a team of over 20 staff and growing, including dedicated project managers who have some of the best experience in the industry, the company continues to expand, with Oracle NetSuite being added to the product portfolio in 2017, to provide a true cloud offering.
