Fifteen years ago, Kinspeed were approached by the directors of GL Hearn, one of the market leaders of Business Rates Advisors in the UK. GL Hearn had a system that worked on an old platform called Foxpro, a product that Kinspeed are now one of the few remaining companies that are able to support and migrate companies from.
The requirement was to build a new system to run the Business Rates appeals process for the company. Fast forward 15 years and GL Hearn have grown exponentially, with the company being sold to the Capita group a few years ago. However, the relationship with GL Hearn and Capita remains strong, with the company continuing to invest in the bespoke built system, that gives them the edge over their competition.
One of the Directors of GL Hearn, Hugh Bower, has acted as the main point of contact throughout our long relationship with the company, and he visited Kinspeed last week for the final time as a GL Hearn representative, as he leaves the company at the end of June.
Kinspeed Managing Director Glen Banks, reflected “As a company who pride ourselves on long term business relationships, we are very proud to have helped GL Hearn to achieve and surpass their business ambitions. During the process we have worked alongside Hugh and the team at GL Hearn to ensure their requirements were enacted at all times, leading to a successful partnership that is now over 15 years old and as strong as ever”.
To celebrate the relationship, several of the team joined Hugh, along with his fellow Director Dennis Broughton, for a meal in Sheffield, to thank Hugh and GL Hearn for their continued business, and Kinspeed’s founder and ex MD Ian Wragg also attended the meal, and all enjoyed reminiscing over good times throughout the years. All at Kinspeed wish Hugh well, and he has promised to pop in for a cup of tea, and a famous Kinspeed buffet, as he passes in the future!
