Kinspeed have agreed to sponsor the new kit for Meadowhall Sunday football league Division 2 team Ridgeway Athletic. Kinspeed have always encouraged local teams by providing much need finance to buy training and playing kits, and have been involved in all levels of the game having sponsored Brimwood and Brunsmeer in the junior leagues, and now Ridgeway again. The previous sponsorship of Ridgeway by Kinspeed was when they won the cup at Bramall Lane in 2005.
Ridgeway have been through a bad period since then and found themselves in the bottom league of the Meadowhall sunday league. However since a change of management with Steve Dudley taking over the reins, the team are unbeaten in the league and are currently flying high in the top position. Steve knows all about Ridgeway and has played in every position for them over the years including in goal ! This local icon and Ridgeway legend has instilled a sense of belief in the players and they are now answering his confidence in them.
The kit itself is shown below modelled by Kinspeed marketing executive Abbi Timson, lets hope it looks as good on the team. A replica of the shirt will be framed and have pride of place in Kinspeeds new training and event centre at Renishaw.
Mick Rudd, the secretary of Ridgeway expressed his delight at securing the kit sponsorship deal ‘Its just come at the right time, the lads are playing like kings in kits fit only for peasants. We are very thankful for Kinspeed’s generous sponsorship and hope we can repay their faith in us, by going on to greater things and possibly securing promotion in it’
Ridgeway play in Division 2 of the Meadowhall Sunday League at the beautiful memorial grounds in Ridgeway. If you are walking past one sunday morning pop in and give them your support, or you can always catch up with the players in the Queens Head or Swan pubs after the game
